MANSEHRA: Special Assistant to Chief Minster Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani on Saturdaysaid the government would earmark Rs seven billion to ensure medical cover to the people in the province. “Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI)-led government is spending Rs7 billion to provide health cover to half of the population. It is planning to spend Rs 7 billion more to provide health cover to the entire population in the province,” he told a press conference here. Tehsil nazimKhuram Khan and district president of PTI Babar Saleem Swati were also in attendance. He said the PTI introduced Quranic studies in syllabus from grade-V to intermediate level. He said that the government was working on a comprehensive strategy to provide furniture to over 2.1 million schoolchildren in the province. He added that as many as 7,000 government employees were sacked either on corruption charges or poor performance. Mushtaq Ghani said that the provincial government had ensured province’s share in the multi-billion China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. The federal government’s five year Fata merger plan would not achieve the desired results to bring peace in country and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he added. “The merger plan would provide terrorists an incentive for next five years and the provincial government would raise the issue with the federal government,” he added.
