Inspector martyred, DSP injured during Sahiwal shoot-out

SAHIWAL: An inspector was shot dead while a deputy superintendent of police (DSP) was wounded late Saturday as a result of an encounter between counter-terrorism department (CTD) personnel and alleged terrorists in Sahiwal.

Two terrorists were injured and four were taken into custody while two of their partners managed to flee from the scene.

The security department conducted the raid upon a tip off about the possible presence of terrorists in Harrapa village, Sahiwal. Terrorists opened indiscriminate fire on the security officials and as a result, the inspector Fida Hussain died and a DSP was injured.

Explosive material, weapons and ammunition were also recovered from their hideout.

The martyred inspector’s body and the injured people were shifted to the hospital for treatment.
