PM Mulk meets COAS, CJCSC

Caretaker Prime Minister Justice (r) Nasirul Mulk met Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Jawed Bajwa on Wednesday.

In the first meeting between the army chief and Justice (r) Mulk since he was sworn in as the caretaker premier last week, the country’s current security situation and other matters were discussed.

“Matters pertaining to Pakistan Army also came under discussion during the meeting at the Prime Minister Office in Islamabad,” said sources. The army chief felicitated the former chief justice of Pakistan for being appointed caretaker premier and extended well wishes to him. Justice (r) Mulk, who is the seventh caretaker prime minister of Pakistan, was sworn in as the caretaker PM on June 1.

Separately, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Zubair Mahmood Hayat Wednesday called on Caretaker Prime Minister Mulk at the Prime Minister’s Office. The CJCSC felicitated the caretaker prime minister on assuming the office of prime minister, a PM’s House statement said. During the meeting, matters pertaining to armed forces came under discussion.
