LAHORE: A Morocco football delegation will visit Pakistan on June 2 (tomorrow) to get support of the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) in Morocco’s bid campaign for the World Cup 2026. Member associations of the world football’s governing body FIFA will vote during the Congress meeting in Moscow on June 13, a day before the opening game of this year’s World Cup, to decide the hosts of the World Cup 2026.

There is also a joint North American bid – Canada, Mexico and USA – along with Morocco’s bid. The 2026 World Cup will comprise 48 teams for the first time, testing the capacity of hosts. Morocco has launched a serious campaign to convince football world that it has the potential to host the mega event. The high level Morocco delegation will meet PFF president Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat. The guests will be making a presentation to get PFF’s vote in favour of its bid. Faisal Saleh said yesterday that distinguished guests would be warmly welcomed in Pakistan. “Every FIFA member is respectable for the PFF. We want to have good cordial relations with football community, delegation visit is a pride moment for Pakistan football,” he added.
