ISLAMABAD: According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 44% Pakistanis say that if Asif Ali Zardari was head of state, the economic situation of the country would have been better or no different.
A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked, “Suppose that Asif Ali Zardari was the head of state instead of Nawaz Sharif, would the economic situation of the country have been better, worse or there would not have been any difference?” In response to this question, 22% said it would have been better, 56% said worse, while 22% said there would not have been any difference.
The study was released by Gilani Research Foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International.
The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 1871 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during December 26 – January 2, 2017. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
