LAHORE: Justice Shahid Karim of Lahore High Court on Monday dismissed as not maintainable a petition moved by Punjab Opposition leader Mian Mahmoodur Rasheed challenging the delimitation of two provincial constituencies of Lahore PP-151 and PP-160.
The judge directed the petitioner to approach the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for the redressal of his grievance.
Petitioner claimed that the ECP held the delimitation of these two constituencies in violation of the election laws. Mian Mahmoodur Rasheed said that he had raised the objection on delimitation but the ECP failed to address those objections raised by him and others pertained to the delimitation of the constituencies.
He requested to set aside the delimitation held by the ECP and order it to do the same afresh after taking into consideration the voters objections.
