CMC doctors protest against halt of construction work

LARKANA: The Chandka Medical College (CMC) doctors on Saturday held a protest against halting construction work of CMC and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical University (SMBBMU).

The protesting doctors included Dr Ihsan Malik, Dr Nadim Baloch, Dr Sarfraz Tunio, Dr Inayat Magsi, Dr Fahim Khuhawar, Dr Asif Chandio and Dr Hafeez Abro.

While talking to the media, they emphasised the fact that CMC is the largest medical college of the rural Sindh which can be considered as a gift by Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto for the poor people.

“The Larkana Commissioner sent police force and ordered them to stop ongoing construction in the pretext of building a new commissioner’s office,” they alleged adding that the commissioner wants to forcibly occupy the land of educational sector. “The existing commissioner’s office has over 90 rooms,” they maintained. The move will surely deprive people of healthcare facilities. They further demanded the Sindh Government to take notice of the incident and order to ensure that the construction of CMC is completed in the interest of the general public.
