ABBOTTABAD: The doctors announced suspension of services at the out-patient department at the Ayub Teaching Hospital (ATH) Abbottabad to protest manhandling of a doctor.
Relatives of a patient manhandled a doctor at the emergency after the patient died at the hospital. The doctors staged the protest to demand action against the attendants and relatives of a female patient who expired in Emergency Department on March 5.
The doctors gathered in front of the pharmacy and condemned the action in which Dr Zahid was manhandled by relatives of the patient.
They also demanded action against security staff for failing to control the situation. The protesting doctors met with medical director and asked him to take action against the security staff as well as registration of FIR against the accused. The medical director assured them to constitute a committee to probe into the matter.
An elderly patient Maryam Bibi was brought to the emergency in a critical condition. She was provided emergency treatment but could not survive.
