Twitterati react to Kareena Kapoor’s twisted definition of feminism

At the music launch of the upcoming movie ‘Veere Di Wedding’ on Tuesday, Kareena Kapoor Khan made a confusing statement and said that she doesn’t see herself as a feminist but believes in equality. Her co-actors, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar, and Shikha Talsania were present at the launch along with director Shashanka Ghosh and producers Ekta Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor.

Twitterati reacted to her statement by reminding her that feminism is all about equality.

User Khemta H. Jose, in response to Kareena’s remarks, tweeted: “I’m not an animal lover, I just really, really, really like animals!

I’m not an activist, I just campaign for change!

I’m not a vegetarian, I just only eat vegetables!”

Another user named Urmi said, “I’m not Hulk. I just like to turn green and smash things.”

Another user said, “I’m not ill-informed. I just don’t do quick Google searches for popular words like ‘feminist’, ya”

User Apekshita Varshne tweeted, “Kareena Kapoor Khan is free to call or not call herself a feminist but to insinuate that feminism is not about equality is dangerous and prohibits many women from giving a word to what they intrinsically know as the truth”

A number of actresses from both Pakistan and India have made similar remarks when asked their opinion on feminism. Well, we would suggest these divas to do some research before voicing opinion on a serious matter. Last we checked, feminism means equality. daily times monitor
