SHIKARPUR: A newlywed bride and her alleged paramour on Monday were gunned down for honour in the village of Yousif Lolai, situated in the town of Dakhan in Garhi Yasin taluka of Shikarpur District.

According to a police report, a ‘ruthless’ husband Ghulam Sarwar, accompanied by his brother-in-law, killed his wife Nasreen and her alleged paramour Bashir Ahmed, who was his neighbour.

Meanwhile, he managed to escape from the crime scene.

Following the incident, the police shifted the bodies to Shikarpur Civil Hospital for autopsy. Later, the bodies were handed over to their heirs.

The station house officer (SHO) Ashique Shahani said that police registered a case at Bado Police Station on behalf of the state. He asserted that police has been conducting raids to arrest the suspects.

Ghulam Sarwar married Nasreen Lolai on May 15, and after six days killed her over suspicious relationship with another man.

Police arrest man who killed his daughter for ‘honour’

A man killed his daughter on late Sunday over an alleged illicit relationship in Murad Shah Village of Ghari Khairo tehsil in the district of Jacobabad within the jurisdiction of Tajo Dero police station.

Following the incident, he tried to dump her body.

The deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Agha Shakeel Pathan reported the incident and said that the suspect Piyaro Khan Jakhrani killed his daughter identified as 20-year-old Resham with a shot gun.

Meanwhile, the area police received a tip-off and raided a local grave yard of the village where the accused and their relatives were burying her body. The police arrested Piyaro and seized his shot gun.

Later, the body of deceased girl was shifted to the Civil Hospital in Jacobabad for medico-legal formalities.

Reportedly, a case was registered against Piyaro and others on state’s behalf at Tajo Dero Police Station while further investigation is underway.
