ISLAMABAD: The Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) on Wednesday signed two contracts MW-01 worth Rs 115 billion and MW-02 worth Rs 64.4 billion with China Gezhouba Group Company (CGGC) for construction of main civil works of Dasu hydropower project.
The contract MW-01, which is to be completed in about five years, includes construction of main dam, appurtenant structures and hydraulic steel structures. The contract MW-02 comprises of construction of underground power complex, tunnels and hydraulic structures.
Dasu Hydropower Project General Manager Javed Akhtar and CGGC representative Tan Bixuan signed the contracts. Water and Power Minister Khawaja Asif was the chief guest at the ceremony. State Minister for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali and WAPDA Chairman Muzammil Hussain also attended the ceremony.
WAPDA Member (Water) Nasir Hanif, Dasu Hydropower Project management, representatives of the project and consultants were also present.
