Karachi: Pakistan’s financial experts expressed their optimism in the foreign investment under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor CPEC which they predict will increase well above $100 billion with progress on the project and with increasing foreign participation.

Talking to journalists at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan’s (ICAP), Khalilullah Shaikh, Vice President ICAP & Chairman PAIB Committee, along with M. Sharif Tabani, Council Member ICAP and Abdul Malik, Secretary ICAP said that the feedback of foreign participants at the CFO Conference 2017 to their respective countries will be of paramount importance for the CPEC projects and Pakistan as well.

The CFO Conference with its theme of ‘Shaping the Future, Connecting the Dots: Learn-Leverage-Lead’ is scheduled for March 14 and 16 in Karachi and Islamabad, respectively. At the conference, the impact of CPEC on industries, financial services, hospitality, and logistics will also be shared and discussed.

“The world is experiencing new shifts; be it in politics, technology, or the economy. The shifts and transformations will redefine the business environment, functions, and expectations of stakeholders. At the CFO Conference 2017, leading industry experts and business professionals will connect the dots and provide the impetus needed to shape the future, inevitably pushing professionals to think differently, leverage on their experiences and reflect on their leadership styles, Khalilullah Shaikh said.

The organizers expect that the participants at the conference – coming from the United Kingdom, the United States, and the Middle East – will convey positive sentiments to their countries and explore the possibilities and challenges of the future. They hoped that the conference will act as a catalyst in bringing foreign participation in terms of investment into CPEC projects from these countries.

According to the organizers, this year’s conference will touch upon upcoming possibilities and challenges within the business community through panel discussions on a CFO as a Chief Sustainability Officer, Driving Change through Transformed Performance Matrix, and Human-eering: Re-engineering Human Capital for Future Challenges.

Since 2010, 14 CFO conferences have been held across the country with the participation of more than 7,000 business leaders and finance professionals. Organizers of the conference are expecting around 1000 participants in Karachi and over 600 in Islamabad, representing more than 570 organizations at both events.
