Sir: Environmental pollution has reached new heights in our country. Big cities are the most effected, and one almost fears that they might not be hospitable to human life anymore. Air pollution is being caused by the ruthless cutting down of trees, emissions from motor vehicles and industrial units and burning of coal, wood and other fossil fuel.
Soil and water pollution is being caused by factory effluents, excessive use of pesticides and insecticides. Noise pollution is being caused by loudspeakers, vehicles and construction sites. All these kinds of pollution are dangerous for mankind. Effective steps should be taken to check it in every possible way.
