ISLAMABAD: Former Interior Minister and PML-N leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan claimed on Wednesday that confrontation threatened the entire country, and not just the PML-N.

In a statement released Wednesday, the disgruntled politician also advised the party to take a cautious and rational approach, and said that anger and confrontation would lead to nowhere in resolving the predicaments the party currently finds itself in.

“If confrontations continue to happen in the future, the country and not only the party will suffer from dire consequences,” he said.

“Anger and confrontation are not the solution to any problem,” the former interior minister added.

He also said,

“It is a point of concern that our government initially faced the issue of the finality of Prophethood (PBUH) and is now being accused of treason.”

The veteran leader also said that the party was heading towards an impending disaster if it did not change the course of action it was adopting.

He also advised politicians to find solutions to problems without compromising on their principles.

Nisar’s remarks come in the wake of PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif’s comments that seemed to suggest state elements in Pakistan were responsible for the 2008 Mumbai attacks. Sharif’s remarks gave birth to a maelstrom in Pakistan and have led to several politicians criticising the ruling party.
