KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has given the approval and sanctioned an amount of roughly Rs 169 million for the construction of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Family Park in an area of eight acres on government land and adjoining two roads in the proximity of Safoora, Scheme-33 Gulzar-e-Hijri.
According to details, the chief minister has approved the summary for the construction of 100 and 150 feet wide roads costing about Rs 37.157 million alongwith a family park on eight acres land at a cost of Rs 90.224 million while Rs 16.180 million will be spend on the construction of available Width 35 to A scheme no.40 road between two societies in sector 24-A in the Scheme 33.
Earlier, the Director General of Karachi Development Authority (KDA) has worked out and informed that there is no source of funding available with the authority. The DG-KDA suggested the Chief Minister Sindh for the allocation of Rs 167.958 million funds for the execution of these schemes.
In this regard, the chairman of Union Council Safoora, Muhammad Ilyas Gabol has approached the chief minister regarding construction of KDA planned 100 feet and 150 feet wide approaching roads to the Government Girls Degree College and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Family Park on eight acres of land situated in Sector 24-A Scheme-33, UC-30.
It may be mentioned that the KDA link road in Shahnawaz Shar Goth, Scheme-33 and eight acres of land which was designated for a family park was tried to be grabbed several times.
The land grabbers had tried many times to launch a fake residential scheme in the title of ‘Shah Inayat Village’. But due to illegality of land, Sindh Land Utilisation Department had stopped the transaction in respect of the village on February 3, 2015.
Due to tough resistance from the area residents against the land grabbers and the perusal of legal course of action the eight acres park on the land and connecting roads finally met a successful ending.
