Ramadan inflation

Author: Daily Times

Sir: Ramadan is almost upon us, and as we all know, during this Holy month several essential commodities double in price. In 2015 and 2016, tomatoes which are normally Rs 40 or 50 per kg jumped to Rs 200 per kg. I had hoped this would not happen this year, but already, the price of chicken has started rising in Karachi.

This is all the hoarder mafia’s doing. Everyone knows this but unfortunately the government has never been able to stop them. It is now up to the citizens to boycott those items whose price is being raised artificially so that they refrain from this criminal practice in the future.
