LARKANA: The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Abdullah Shaikh on Monday said that 10,452 police officers have been appointed to ensure security in the entire Larkana Division as the Islamic month of Ramazan approaches.
He revealed that 1800 personnel would be deployed in Larkana district, 1886 in Kambar-Shahdadkot, 2314 in Shikarpur, 1680 in Jacobabad and 2773 in Kashmore.
He issued directives to five senior superintendents of police (SPs) to deploy more officers at business centres, markets and establish police pickets. He instructed ‘intensified’ patrolling all major highways and ‘sensitive’ areas without interrupting traffic flow during the whole month. He claimed that a control room has been set-up at his office to enhance monitoring and SSPs would inspect law and order more vigilantly. “No negligence would be tolerated, so officers need to ensure law and order actively and honestly,” he remarked while commanding officers.
