DADU: The religious clerics on Sunday threatened to launch a drive against the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Qamar Raza Jiskani, if he fails to deploy security personnel at 500 mosques, Imam Bargahs, Madrasas and other religious buildings in the district of Dadu.

The clerics including Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) general secretary Moula Wahid Bux Babar, Jamiat Ulema-e Islam (JUI) general secretary Moulana Anwar Khunharo, Moulana Habib Rehman Malkani, Moulana Nawaz ullah and Moulana Asgar Leghari in their joint press conference at Dadu press club claimed that SSP Jiskani had removed all security from the mosques, Imam Bargahs and other religious buildings. They said that a delegation of religious scholars met him at his office and tried to convince him, however he refused to accept their ‘legal’ right.

They held SSP Jiskani responsible if any terrorist activity occurs in the region. They threatened to launch a strike in the district till the removal of SSP Jiskani, if security is not provided to 500 religious buildings. Meanwhile, while talking to media, SSP Jiskani said that under the directives of Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan, ‘illegal’ security was removed from the district. He said that he submitted oath in the SC that he had enforced the ruling successfully. “It is impossible to break the directives of SC,” he remarked.
