According to details, 13 teams of the PHC, accompanied by officials of the district administration and police, visited different parts of all districts of the Punjab. They checked 6,282 treatment centres, and found 2,241 being run by quacks, which were sealed immediately. From amongst the 6,282 visited as per the census data, 1,484 quacks have quit the business of quackery, and started new other businesses.
The maximum quacks’ outlets, that is, 262, were in sealed in Lahore, while the 118 in Toba Tek Singh, 101 in Rawalpindi, 100 in Sheikhupura, 94 in Faisalabad, 91 in Muzaffargarh, 84 in Sialkot, 79 in Layyah, 78 in Sargodha, 72 in Nankana Sahab, 68 in Sahiwal, 67 each in Bahawalnagar and Multan, 65 in Gujranwala, 62 in Kasur and 60 in Pakpattan were sealed.
