LAHORE: Pakistan People’s Party central Punjab president Qamar Zaman Kaira reacted to the recent press conference of Nawaz Sharif by questioning that what ‘sin’ National Accountability Beauru (NAB) chairman committed by initiating alleged money laundry probe.

Previously on Thursday, while conducting a press conference, former premier Nawaz Sharif demanded NAB chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal to provide proof of money laundering against him (Nawaz) within 24 hours. Nawaz demanded that if chairman NAB fails to provide evidence, he should apologise publically and resign.

In response to this, Kaira said, “What wrong has NAB chairman done? He just asked for the verification of report.”

He said that NAB had not started an investigation or filed a reference against him. He added that it has been Nawaz’s policy to carry a confrontational stance towards the institutions.

While responding to Nawaz’s remarks about 70 appearances in the court he said that justice is being delayed by Sharif family’s lawyers, “If their lawyer spent 15 days cross-examining one witness then the case proceedings will be delayed.”
