KHAIRPUR: The Executive Council (EC) of Shah Abdul Latif University Teachers Association (SALUTA) on Wednesday held an emergent meeting, which was presided over by Prof Dr Ameer Ali Chandio.
The meeting examined the issues of teachers to devise an effective strategy to eradicate corruption from the premises of the university. Hence a rally entitled ‘Stop Corruption -Save University’ would be carried out on May 14 instead of May 12 in Sukkur.
The meeting unanimously agreed to conduct a special meeting with the administrative authorities to settle legitimate, academic and financial issues that were ‘intentionally’ delayed by the relevant officers. The EC decided to lead an effective campaign by ensuring an immense contribution by the civil society, Sindh Professors and Lecturer Association (SPLA) Bar Association, the teaching community and social organisations in the rally.
Furthermore, the EC condemned delaying tactics by the administration to dispense pension to the retired teachers, who had served the institution. They urged the Post Graduate Office to follow rules and regulations strictly while organising M.Phil and Ph.D seminars. Lastly, the EC demanded administration to distribute answer sheets of annual examinations and grant M.Phil and PhD allowance without any discrimination.
