PESHAWAR: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Saqib Nisar on Wednesday ordered the authorities to remove all unnecessary security checkposts in Peshawar.
While hearing a petition filed against unnecessary checkposts and closure of routes, CJP ordered to open all closed routes, while he also directed the authorities to remove all unnecessary checkposts within 48 hours.
Earlier in the day, Justice Nisar visited a mental health centre in Peshawar and criticised the hospital staff for poor condition of the place. Speaking to staff member Dr Tariq, the CJP questioned: “Is this how you treat human being?”
CJP summoned Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa CM Pervaiz Khattak, while upon Khattak’s arrival, Justice Nisar said: “Let me show the miserable condition of this hospital.”
Justice Nisar also directed the secretary health to present a report pertaining the issue before the SC within 10 days.
