KHAIRPUR: A notorious criminal was arrested on Tuesday during an encounter with police in Khairpur.

According to a report, the Tando Masti police raided Narejo Link Road where criminals were present in a suspected hideout. Consequently, they opened fired on the police, which responded efficiently to arrest Nazeer Ahmed Ujjain. The police also recovered one pistol and large quantity of ammunition from his possession.

Meanwhile, his accomplices managed to escape from the scene.

The police revealed that the arrested criminal was wanted in 16 heinous crimes.

Man crushed to death

A man was killed on Tuesday in a road accident near Kandiaro, a city in the Naushahro Feroze District of Sindh province.

According to a report, a vehicle rammed into a man at National Highway road, who died on the spot while the motorist managed to flee from the scene.

The Kandiaro Police shifted the body to a local hospital for identification and legal formalities where the deceased was identified as Abdul Ghani, a resident of Andal Solangi.

Meanwhile, the police lodged a case against unidentified vehicle driver.

Man dies, four injured in road accident

At least one man died and four sustained critical injuries on Tuesday in a road accident near Mirpur Mathelo, a town in Ghotki District of Sindh province.

According to a report, a family was returning from Sehwan city after attending the Urs ceremony of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar, when their car crashed into a truck at National Highway Sarhad Bypass. Resultantly, Saifullah Baloch died on the spot while Eman, Dua, Shah and Hasnain Baloch were shifted to Ghotki Hospital in critical conditions.

Meanwhile, Mir Mathelo Police arrested the truck driver and started investigation into the matter.
