LAHORE: With only a few days left for Ramazan, the District Administration has directed officials to make arrangements for holding DastarKhwans for needy people in the metropolis with the help of philanthropists for this.

In this connection, Deputy Commissioner Lahore Sumair Ahmed Syed and Incharge Madni Dastar Khwan Haji Muhammad Nawaz jointly chaired a meeting with the establishment of Daster Khwan for iftar at DC office on Monday. A meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Tahir Farooq and assistant commissioners.

DC Lahore has revealed that as many as 300 Madni DastarKhwans would be set up in diverse parts of the metropolitan city from where citizens may have Sehar and Aftaar free of cost. The ACs had been directed to arrange meetings with philanthropists of their concerned tehsils and pursue them for this collective noble and Islamic cause.

“There would be a strive to establish more Daster Khawan than District Administration had identified in the entire city and it has been considering it a collective cause instead of individual one,” he said.

Sumair Ahmed Syed and Haji Muhammad Nawaz also directed ACs to have their Iftars on Dastar Khwan to give a positive gesture to the citizens visiting these Madni Daster Khwans.
