Punjab police arrests 159 criminals involved in theft and drug peddling

LAHORE: The Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) arrested 159 culprits including 47 Proclaimed Offenders (PO), two court absconders and recovered cash, other valuables, drugs as well as illegal weapons from their possession.

The PHP also arrested four dacoits and recovered illegal arms, mobile phone, cash worth Rs 7,000, ceased illegal weapons including four Kalashnikovs, four rifles, 48 pistols, two guns and 680 bullets and rendered help to 3,299 commuters.

According to details, PHP patrolling team on receiving information, arrested four dacoits and recovered a rifle, two pistols, 26 bullets, two mobile phones and cash Rs worth 7,000 from them. The PHP also arrested 47 POs and two court absconders including Yousaf, Afzal, Mushtaq, Saeed Ahmad, Abid, Sadiq, Sarwar, Adil Azhar, Salim, Sarfaraz, Ansar, Chand Masih, Jahanzeb, Sarfaraz, Niaz, Ghafoor, Amjad, Umar Daraz, Hameed, Arshad, Jaffar, Ghulam Farid, Khawind Bakhsh, Thino, Irfan, Akbar, Asif, Allah Ditta, Asif, Jumah Khan, Afzal and Qadir.

Similarly, the PHP team arrested 51 culprits namely Faisal Masih, Tariq, Adnan, Saeed Anwar, Farooq, Ziaullah, Shahid, Sadaqat, Zeeshan, Sabir, Sattar, Asmat, Haq Nawaz, Nisar Hussain, Shah Muhammad, Nazakat, Umar Farooq, Umar, M Kamran, Sadiq, Iqbal, Shahid, Mazhar, Ramzan, Qaiser, Javed, Ghuzar, Ejaz, Nauman, Safdar Hussain, Sajjad Ali, Ali, Abu Sufyan, Allah Ditta, Sajjad Ali, Waqas, Sajjad, Iftikhar, Afzal and Ghulam Mohiuddin and recovered 603 litre liquor, 12,216 grammes hashish from them.

However, PHP teams arrested another 55 culprits namely Hanif, Shoaib, Abid Hussain, Imran, Shafqat Ali, Shahwar Hassan, Zeeshan, Kashif, Fareedullah, Rashid, Sajjad, Ghulam Asghar, Babar, Sohail, Abbas, Naveed, Nawaz, Sharif, Amir Ali, Asghar Ali Shah, Ijaz, Sadaam, Safdar, Arshad, Mazhar, Muddasir, Waria, Farman Ali and Rafiq on possessing arms and recovered 48 pistols, four Kalashnikovs, four rifles, two guns, a cartridge and 680 bullets from their possession. PHP teams reunited seven children namely Tayyab, Najam Shah, Shoaib, Ali Hanzla, Samiullah, Yasir Khan and Hammad with their parents.
