Police recovers kidnapped labourer after 45 days

KHAIRPUR: An abducted labourer was recovered by a joint operation of police on Sunday from Gharhi Tego, a town in the Khairpur district of Sindh province.

According to a report, the donkey cart driver Ali Asghar was held hostage since 45 days by a gang of criminals. The kidnappers demanded a ransom of Rs one million for his release.

The Ghotki and Shikarpur police jointly launched a crackdown on criminals in the region while raiding the Katchha area of the Indus River, they recovered Ali Asghar.

The police arrested five suspected criminals and seized weapons from their possession.

Meanwhile, the police started further investigation into the matter.
