Sir: While I am by no means a fan of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) or any of the politicians within its ranks, I must condemn certain voices on social media saying that he deserved to be shot at.
I would like to retort that such criminal violence is never justified, and that encouraging or glorifying such attacks is a crime under the National Action Plan (NAP). Furthermore, these individuals realise that change cannot come to Pakistan because of whatever political party is in power. We need to become more civilised as a nation to improve our state.
What happened to Ahsen Iqbal certainly wasn’t civilised. If such attacks are encouraged, soon people will be attacking whoever they disagree with, and the country would be in chaos. To a certain extent, this has already happened.
I urge all such people to re-think their stance and condemn the attack on Ahsen Iqbal.
