RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Qamar Javed Bajwa held separate meetings on Thursday with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ambassador to Pakistan, Mr Hamad Al Zaabi and Turkey’s Chief of General Staff General Hulusi Akar.
Matters of mutual interest, social and defence projects were discussed during the meeting.
Both representatives acknowledged Pakistan’s efforts in winning the war against terrorism.
The military’s media wing reported that during the meeting with the UAE envoy, the two sides exchanged ideas on bilateral ties and joint agreements. It was also claimed that the UAE would launch social projects in Pakistan’s rural areas.
Moreover, General Hulusi Akar appreciated Pakistan’s efforts for eradicating terrorism and in building regional peace.
General Bajwa thanked Turkey for supporting Pakistan in the matter of the Financial Action Task Force.
Earlier, on his arrival at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, the Turkish general laid a wreath on the martyrs’ monument and inspected a guard of honor.
