FAISALABAD: Chief Minister Punjab (CM) Shehbaz Sharif took notice on Thursday of the torture of women over a property issue in Faisalabad and ordered the arrest of the criminals.

The Vice-chairman (VC) of the city council rushed into the women’s house house in Railways Colony along with his partners on the 28th of April, tortured the women and damaged their house over a dispute on property.

Police later arrived at the spot and dispersed the crowd. However, a video of the incident has appeared on the internet.

The head of the effected family has registered a complaint in the police station against VC Irfan Ashraf and 32 other individuals.

VC Ashraf belongs to the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). Police have arrested 27 persons that were involved in that case. CM Punjab has sought an inquiry report from officials within 48 hours.
