Two wanted criminals arrested after ‘encounter’

KHAIRPUR: Two notorious criminals were arrested on Wednesday after a hostile encounter with responding officers of Gambat police, officials said.

According to the senior superintendent of police (SSP) Shabir Ahmed, the police raided a suspected hideout near link road in Gambat, a city of Khairpur District in the Sindh province.

The criminals opened fire on the police, followed by the exchange of gunfire from both sides. The police succeeded to arrest two wanted criminals and seized weapons from their possession.

Meanwhile, their accomplices managed to escape from the scene.

Furthermore, the SSP said that the arrested criminals were wanted in 16 heinous crimes.

The police registered first information reports (FIRs) against the suspected criminals.
