PESHAWAR: Authorities informed that a leopardess on Monday gave birth to four healthy cubs at the Peshawar zoo.

The parents of the cubs were brought to the zoo about three months ago from Hazara and Malakand regions of Pakistan.

Authorities were proud to announce that the leopardess gave birth to four cubs, when normally leopardesses only reproduce three cubs. As of now, three pairs of common leopards reside within the zoo.

The Peshawar zoo was inaugurated in February 2018, after which many controversial stories surfaced pertaining to the mysterious death of animals.

A minimum of three animals have died since the zoo opened, including a 10 year old snow leopard who lost his life due to clogged arteries.
