No govt without PPP can sustain: Zardari

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-Chairman and former president Asif Ali Zardari Friday said any government formed after the upcoming general elections without the involvement of his party will not be able to sustain itself.

“No government in the centre can be formed without the PPP being a part of it,” Zardari said, adding that he will not let Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) form a government after the upcoming polls, referring to the recent ‘cornering’ of the ruling party in the Senate elections.

The PPP supremo said during the last general elections, PML-N was involved in corrupt practices while his party’s hands were tied. “But now the situation is different. PML-N will now realise the hard facts of life,” he told a delegation of party leaders led by Punjab President Qamar Zaman Kaira.

Shedding light on the party’s plans for mobilising its support base, Zardari said that he, along with Bilawal Bhutto, will visit districts in Punjab. “The farmers and government employees still remember the relief provided by the PPP government,” he said, adding that the ruling party has utterly failed to provide any relief to the people.
