Hollywood was shocked by the allegations made against the film tycoon Harvey Weinstein, which first came to light in a New York Times editorial. Annapurna Pictures and Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment attained the film rights to the story by journalists Megan Twohey and Jodi Kantor. Annapurna spokeswoman, Ashley Momtaheni said.
“The story sparked the #MeToo movement exposing workplace harassment and won a Pulitzer Prize last week.”
The movie will display how the journalists’ story originateds, and stories of other alleged sexual predators such as Kevin Spacey and James Toback will also be included. The reporting was recently awarded the Pulitzer Prize for public service. The film will not only focus on Weinstein himself, but rather the analytical and undercover journalism behind the part.
