ISLAMABAD: Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Khursheed Shah on Wednesday said if former PM Benazir Bhutto had not signed the NRO, the judges would still be in jail.
“The NRO has nothing do with neither Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) nor co-chief Asif Ali Zardari. It was Benazir who paved way for democracy through NRO and saved the judges otherwise they would still be in jail,” Khursheed Shah said while speaking to media in the Parliament house.
Speaking about speculations of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) disgruntled leader Chaudhry Nisar joining PTI, Khursheed said that he could not think that such a move could happen.
He added that considering Nisar’s decades long affiliations with the PML-N, it was highly unlikely that he could join Imran’s PTI.
