From now onwards, selected pictures and the owner’s name could be printed on the plate. The unit will introduce bidding for names to be printed on the registration plates. The bidding will start at a base price of Rs5 million. SRU DG Salman Sufi said on the occasion that the bidding would be open to individuals as well as organisations.
Moreover, the plates will now only have the province’s name engraved next to the number. The cameras installed across roads in major cities of the province by the Safe City Authority will be able to read these new plates.
