Radd-ul-Fasaad to bring lasting stability: COAS

ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Bajwa on Tuesday said Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad aims at bringing lasting peace, stability and normalcy to Pakistan.

He was speaking at two-day Pak-UK Seminar on ‘Sharing Experiences in Stabilization and Peace Efforts’ was organised at National Defence University.

The top general was chief guest in the opening session.

General Bajwa highlighted the enormity of the endeavours undertaken by Pakistan against the forces of disorder and terror, over the last many years.

He underlined the importance and context of the military campaign that commenced in 2007-08 and has now evolved into Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad, aimed at solidifying the success of military operation to bring lasting peace, stability and normalcy to the country. Earlier, Lieutenant General Patrick Sanders paid homage to the efforts of the Pakistan Army and people in the war on terrorism, making not only Pakistan but also the world, a safer place. The audience comprised of dignitaries from British High Commission, former envoys and participants from various think-tanks and universities.

The event is second in the ongoing consultative process between security practitioners of the two countries. The UK delegation was led by Lieutenant General Patrick Sanders.

On Monday, the top general met a contingent of 40 college students from remote areas at the GHQ. General Bajwa termed the youth as Pakistan’s most precious asset. He said the young generation should play their role in national development and that they should attain high quality education in order to achieve these high standard ambitions.
