Sherpao stressed need for carrying out accurate census

PESHAWAR: Provincial Chairman Qaumi Watan Party and Senior Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao has said that the census is of vital importance and it should be genuinely carried out in the national interests.

It went to the credit of QWP to ensure the holding of census after every decade through a mandatory legislation, Sherpao while addressing inauguration ceremony of Chothi and Zango bridges in District Charsadda.

Sherpao said that the construction of the bridges is in order to meet the demands of people involved the locals of the District. He praised the efforts of QWP for addressing the long standing demands of the people of province adding that QWP will always support people of the province.

He said that holding accurate and impartial census so as accurate figures could be obtained for national uplift and genuine representation in the mainstream and division of developmental funds. Inaccurate politicized and manipulate process would create complication and it would lead to misgivings and apprehensions, he added.

He said that the counting of census of KP should be done in Peshawar like other provinces to keep transparency otherwise it will further aggravate the sense of deprivation in Pakhtoons.

The Senior Minster further stated that QWP is the only political force in the province that believes in taking practical steps for the betterment and welfare of Pakhtoon nation. While commenting on the merger of FATA with KP, the senior minister clarified that the process merger of FATA with KP should be expedite just to bring the people of FATA into mainstream

The minister said that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project was very important for people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. No injustice with the province would be tolerated in that regard, he added.
