LONDON: Addressing the media at a fundraising event in the British capital, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Imran Khan vowed that his party would not seek an alliance with either Zardari or Nawaz Sharif in the upcoming general elections.
The cricketer-turned-politician also assailed the two leaders on reaching an agreement prior to the 2013 general elections, which he claimed were heavily rigged.
The PTI head also lamented over horse-trading that occured in the recently held Senate elections, and said that the main problem was with the representatives of the people who had ‘sold themselves.’
“Those who auctioned themselves after getting voted into the Senate by the public are the real culprits,” Imran claimed, while questioning the moral courage of other political parties to take action against their members.
He also warned other party heads that he would reveal the names of their party members who had engaged in horse-trading if other parties did not take any retributive action against those involved in jeopardising the Senate elections.
Imran Khan also vowed to hold the ‘mother of all rallies’ in Lahore on the 29th of April.
He claimed that the show of public support in the rally would highlight that the people believe in upholding the sanctity of law.
