SHIKARPUR: Two children died while three sustained critical injuries on Sunday after a wall and a gate of a school collapsed over them at Karamullah Banglai village.
According to police, five-year-old Ali Nawaz and eight-year-old Naseerudin, died while Abdullah, Abdul Latif and Kamran sustained injuries when they were playing and suddenly a wall and school gate collapsed over them.
The locals rushed on the spot and recovered them from the debris. They were shifted to Taluka Hospital Madeji for treatment and postmortem examination respectively.
The injured children were shifted to Chandka Medical College Hospital in Larkana for further treatment due to their critical condition, however their condition was stablised.
The villagers alleged that contractors used substandard material during the construction of primary school in 2007 and since then they have written many applications to higher authorities to open the school but the school remained school due to its dilapidated condition.
SSP suspends absent SHOs, constables
The newly appointed SSP Masood Bangash on Sunday suspended two Station House Officers (SHOs) and five police constables during his visit to the police stations.
According to report, SSP Masood Banash suspended the officers as they were absent from their duties. He warned other officers to perform their duties honestly and negligence would not be tolerated.
He gave a message to robbers and criminals to surrender themselves to the police else, a stern action would be taken against them. Meanwhile, people of Shikarpur have breathed a sigh of relief.
