According to details, the PHC teams visited 172 treatment centres, and closed down 82 businesses of quacks.
On Friday, the teams sealed 39 fake treatment centres from the 64 those visited. The action was taken in different areas of 14 districts, including Chiniot, Multan, Attock, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Vehari, Layyah, Rahim Yar Khan, Narowal, Kasur, Khushab, Lahore, Bahawalnagar and Lodhran.
In Lahore, the teams visited 108 treatment centres and closed down 43 businesses, which were being run by general quacks, hakeems, homoeopathic doctors and others.
It is pertinent to mention here that during this week, the PHC teams had sealed 492 businesses out of 1,289 centres visited across the province.
Also on Friday, Punjab Minister for Primary and Secondary Health Kh Imran Nazir directed deputy district health officers to play their role in elimination of quackery from the province.
