CM Shehbaz due in Karachi today

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz President Shehbaz Sharif will reach Karachi today (Sunday) where he will meet leaders of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan Awami National Party Sindh chapter.

According to PML-N leader Khialdas Kohistani, Shehbaz’s visit to Karachi would be of political importance. The party leader intends to start a public contact campaign during his visits ahead of the general elections.

During his visit to Karachi, Shehbaz is expected to discuss the political situation of the country and possibilities of alliances for the upcoming general elections with the leaders of ANP and both factions of MQM-P.

The PML-N president will address party gatherings during visits to Lyari, KMC Ground and Baldia Town. Shehbaz will also visit the underway project of Green Bus service in Board Office area.

The PML-N leader is also expected to attend a dinner at Governor House.

Earlier, Shehbaz visited Karachi on April 14 during which he discussed the country’s political situation and PML-N’s agenda with Sindh Governor Muhammad Zubair. During the meeting, Shehbaz told the Sindh governor that his party has the agenda for development and welfare of people and would change the situation of all the cities if it comes to power.

Separately, a delegation of PML-N parliamentarians called on the chief minister here on Saturday.

Talking to the chief minister, parliamentarians said CM Shehbaz Sharif had worked tirelessly for the welfare and development of the people of Punjab and the people from other provinces were looking towards his dynamic leadership.

Speaking on the occasion, Shehbaz claimed that the PML-N government was serving the public selflessly. He said that the PML-N had always done the politics of public service. Those who called on the CM included MNA Armghan Subhani, MPA Ch Tariq Subhani and former minister Khush Akhtar Subhani.

Meanwhile, the chief minister Saturday chaired a meeting of the PML-N Balochistan chapter.

Ahsan Iqbal, Lt Gen (r) Abdul Qadir Baloch, former chief minister Nawab Sanaullah Zehri, MNAs Zahid Hamid, Hamza Shehbaz Sharif, Speaker Balochistan Assembly Raheela Durrani, Senator Dr Asif Kirmani, Jamal Shah Karkar, Mir Afzal Mandokhel, Saidal Khan Nasir, Yunus Khan Baloch and Farid Afghan Khan attended the meeting among others.

The meeting appointed acting office-bearers for the PML-N Balochistan.

Shehbaz appointed Lt Gen (r) Abdul Qadir Baloch acting PML-N Balochistan president, while Jamal Shah Kakar and Mir Afzal Mandokhel were appointed acting vice presidents.

Saidal Khan was made the acting general secretary and Yunus Khan Baloch was made acting additional general secretary, while Farid Afghan Khan was appointed on the post of the acting secretary information of the PML-N Balochistan chapter.

The meeting also prayed for the early recovery of Begum Kalsoom Nawaz.

Addressing the meeting, the chief minister said: “We will strengthen the PML-N Balochistan jointly. We will work together for the strengthening of the party and I will personally visit Quetta soon.”
