Gender-based violence on the rise!

ISLAMABAD: Participants at an interactive dialogue session on Friday expressed disappointment over the spread of gender based violence, which has serious consequences.

The magnitude of this problem was difficult to assess as it was still considered a private matter, is intentionally covered up and was usually not reported to the law enforcement agencies. In several sexual harassment cases, the parents tried their best to hide the cases, which according to them was a matter of dishonour for them.

Such an attitude of the parent and society encourage the perpetrators to continue such crimes. They stressed for stopped of such practices which they claimed have negative impact of the new generation of the country particularly the female.
