PESHAWAR: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJ) Justice Saqib Nisar resumed hearing cases in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on issues related to public welfare, and ordered the provincial government to clamp down on all bogus clinics and quacks operating in the province.
The CJ also chastised the head of the healthcare commission, saying,
“What kind of a province is this where the chief secretary earns Rs 180,000 while the head of the healthcare commission takes away Rs 500,000 every month?”
Justice Saqib also ordered authorities to begin testing water samples across the province, while at the same time highlighting the dearth of equipment in the province required to test water.
The CJ, moreover, praised Inspector General KP Salahuddin Mehsud for his performance in the province, and for removing security from 1769 non-essential officials in the province.
Justice Saqib also visited the judicial academy and addressed members of the bar association.
It is also expected that the court will take up cases pertaining to the condition of jails, the Mashal Khan and Asma Rani Murder cases, and the closure of roads.
