SALUTA condemns administration role in elections

KHAIRPUR: SALUTA held its emergent meeting, presided by Prof Dr Amir Ali Chandio, at the department of business administration on Thursday.

The interference of university administration in the elections of SALUTA was condemned by the members. Ghotki Campus lecturer Ms Nadia Sahar Memon was issued notice to explain herself as a contesting candidate from Ghotki. The meeting declared her contest as a pre-poll rigging. Besides, the meeting concluded with other unanimous decisions.

Three out of five members namely Prof Dr Amir Ahmed Khuhro, Prof Dr Ali Hassan Halepoto and Mr Azizullah Phulpoto resigned from the election commission of SALUTA. Therefore, the meeting declared entire election process of the year 2018 as null and void.

However, the general body meeting of SALUTA will be held on April 25 at Adeeb Rizvi Auditorium to endorse the nominated candidates for SALUTA. Furthermore, the meeting would consider measures to resolve the discrimination by administration towards the teaching community. Strategy for better administration and control in the university would also be devised.

In his address to the meeting, Dr Amir Ali Chandio said that the administration of university breached professionalism and ethics during the elections.

He pledged to formulate good governance in the university.
