PESHAWAR: Chief Justice of Pakistan Saqib Nisar remarked that he had heard a lot about the PTI government’s ‘good governance’ in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), and has come to Peshawar to witness it firsthand.

The CJP made these claims after he summoned Chief Minister KP Pervez Khattak to court while overseeing hearings on issues of public welfare at the court’s Peshawar registry on Thursday.

A three-member bench, which includes Justice Mansoor Ali Shah and Justice Umar Ata Bandial, is hearing several cases, including those of the province’s hospitals, educational institutes, private medical colleges and a lack of clean drinking water for the public.

The bench has also sought a report on the state of basic facilities in schools, the fee structure in private medical colleges, and the state of load-shedding in KP.
