Robber killed while fleeing police

KARACHI: A suspect was killed while another managed to flee after an encounter took place with Police in the jurisdiction of Taimoria Police Station on Wednesday. Police claimed that the suspects were involved in the murder of two citizens 9 days ago, in the same area. Station House Officer Tasawur Ameer stated that the police received information that two gunmen were looting citizens in the market situated in the Buffer Zone Sector 16. When the police team reached the site, the suspects tried to escape and fired shots at the police. In retaliation, one suspect died on the spot and his accomplice managed to flee from the scene. “We are trying to nab the escaped suspect and an FIR of the incident has been registered” the SHO affirmed. “Police has recovered an illegal weapon and the stolen valuables. These criminals were also involved in killing two citizens, Muhammad Rashid and Abdul Wahid, near Haroon Shoping Center on the 5th of March” he added. The body of the dead suspect has been shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for legal formalities, but the identity of the suspect as yet remains unknown.
