Cut in load shedding has boosted businesses: CM

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif Wednesday said economic activities had increased due to reduction in load shedding and terrorism.

“Sufficient improvements have been witnessed in trade and investment sectors,” he said this while talking to Governor Sindh Muhammad Zubair, Federal Minister Kh Saad Rafiq, Minister of State for National Food Security and Research Saeed Ayaz Ali Sherazi and office-bearers of PML-N Sindh who called on him here.

The chief minister said energy crisis had been over powered to much extent, adding the time was not far when load shedding would become a thing of the past. Due to sufficient decrease in load shedding, he said economic activities had boosted up in Karachi and other parts of the country. The duration of electricity supply to the industrial sector had increased, he added.

The chief minister said law and order was a chronic problem in Karachi but due to the efforts and sacrifices of Pakistan Army and other law enforcement agencies, peace had been restored in the port city.”The credit goes to PML-N government which has dedicatedly worked to overcome the menace of terrorism through the national action plan,” he added.

Shehbaz said Pakistan belonged to all of them and they jointly had to run it. “We all have to collectively work hard for the national development,” he added.

Different matters, including re-organisation of the PML-N, phase-wise elections of office-bearers and different organizational matters came under discussion.

Senators, including Rahila Magsi, Syed Asif Ali Kirmani,Asad Ali Khan Junejo and Saleem Zia, also attended the meeting.

Separately, PML-N Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President and Advisor to Prime Minister Engineer Amir Muqam called on Shehbaz Sharif.During the meeting, different matters of mutual interest including political issues and progress on development projects came under discussion.

Shehbaz, who is also the PML-N president, said that people of KP have been deceived in the name of change and revolution. How those who have deceived in the name of billion tree tsunami can be the leaders of the nation, he questioned.

He said that the PML-N will bring a revolution of development and prosperity in the KP. The latest transport system like metro bus will be introduced in Peshawar and other major cities and a real revolution will be brought in health and education sectors to facilitate the people, he said.

Amir Muqam appreciated the development vision of Shehbaz Sharif and said that worthwhile development has been made in Lahore and other cities of the province. He claimed that PML-N will gain thumping majority in KP and other parts of the country under the leadership of Shehbaz Sharif in the upcoming general elections.

Meanwhile, Shehbaz Sharif in his capacity as president of the party has appointed Mirza Ishtiaq Baig as president of the Business Forum of PML-N. He gave the letter of appointment to Baig at a ceremony here. Office-bearers of PML-N Sindh chapter Senator Rahila Magsi, Senator Asif Saeed Kirmani, Senator Saleem Zia, members of National Assembly and provincial assemblies, Minister of State Syed Ayaz Ali Shah Sherazi and other office-bearers of PML-N were present on the occasion. Baig is also the Vice President of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

Separately, PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif has reorganized PML-N Sindh and appointed Shah Muhammad Shah as acting president, Aslam Abru as senior vice president and Saleem Zia as general secretary. Shehbaz Sharif has directed him to complete the process of reorganization of PML-N Sindh at provincial, divisional, district and tehsil levels as soon as possible. A meeting was held under his chair to review the matters regarding reorganizing the PML-N Sindh chapter. He issued directions to implement different proposals and recommendations presented in this regard.
