LAHORE: The Punjab Cycling Association is organising the first-ever women open road cycle race on March 23 to celebrate the Pakistan’s Day in a befitting manner.
The race will start from Punjab Stadium.
Punjab Cycling Association President Ch Kamran Amin will flag off riders at the inaugural ceremony, said a spokesman for the PCA on Wednesday.
“The first six position holders of the event will be given cash prizes at the closing ceremony in Kasur,” he said.
Syed Nazaqat Ali Shah, a former international cyclist, will be the chief judge of the event while Qaisar Saddique Bhatti has been nominated as the chief coordinator. Muhammad Akram Dar is the director of the race. He advised interested female cyclists to register their names to the organising secretary of the race.
