LAHORE: The Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP), Mian Saqib Nisar has rejected the Punjab government’s offer to increase security for judges.
The offer came in the wake of the firing incident that occurred at Justice Ijazul Ahsan’s residence in Lahore on Sunday.
“Judges do not need additional security,” the CJP claimed.
Meanwhile, the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) is continuing to investigate the firing incident. It visited the crime scene and recorded the statements of the security officials.
The team also conducted a search operation in the adjoining areas to the crime scene, while the records of the past few days of hotels were also scrutinized.
