According to weekly cause list, Bench-1 comprises Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed and Justice Ijazul Ahsan. Bench-II consists of Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa, Justice Maqbool Baqar and Justice Mazhar Alam Khan Miankhel. Bench-III comprises Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan, Justice Mushir Alam and Justice Sajjad Ali Shah. Bench-IV consists of Justice Gulzar Ahmed and Justice Qazi Faez Isa. Bench-V comprises Justice Manzoor Ahmad Malik and Justice Sardar Tariq Masood.
A two-member Supreme Court bench comprising Justice Umar Ata Bandial and Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah will hear cases at Supreme Court’s Peshawar registry from Monday to Wednesday.
From Thursday to Friday, a three-member Supreme Court bench comprising Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, Justice Umar Ata Bandial and Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah will hear cases at Supreme Court’s Peshawar registry.
According to the cause list, no application for adjournment through fax or email will be placed before the court. Besides, if any counsel is unable to appear for any reason, the advocate-on-record (AoR) will be required to argue the case. Furthermore, no adjournment on any ground will be granted.
The court will also hear dozens of human rights and suo motu cases during the week, including authorized and unauthorized marriage halls functioning in the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), media commission report and checks and balances on media.
The cases about use of public exchequer for political designs by the central and provincial governments, misuse of funds by the information ministry, independence of Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) and appointment of its chairman, construction of Kalabagh Dam and preparation of electoral rolls after eliminating all bogus votes will also be heard during the week.
The cases pertaining to a mega scam pertaining to power projects, disbursement of Supreme Court and High Court funds without any interference of executive and filling up of vacancies of superior courts, rights of disabled people in Pakistan and relocation of Sharif family’s sugar mills will also be heard during the week.
